Hate Incident Reporting Centre

All Hallows is now a Hate Incident Reporting Centre.

This means that anyone can report a hate incident (not necessarily a crime) in strict confidence, and it will be recorded. The incident doesn't have to have happened to you; you can also report something that has happened to someone you know. The scheme focuses on racist and homophobic incidents, but other kinds of incident are not excluded.

To report an incident, or to ask for more information, please contact hirc@allhallowsleeds.org.uk or phone Sandra on 0113 242 8455.

Here is some information about HIRCs, adapted from www.safeinsouthyorks.co.uk/howto.htm#incident_reporting

If you do not want to have contact with the police you can report any incident at a place you may be familiar with, within your area. These are local groups who have been trained and are aware of the issues re confidentiality. They are incident reporting centres; a member of staff will help you complete the self-reporting form and forward it onto the appropriate reporting centre within the police community safety dept.

The incident reporting centre is also a neutral ground where you could meet the police if you wish the incident to be investigated, or require further police information, but don't feel comfortable giving your home address.
