9pm Cost £20 waged/£10 low-waged/£5 unwaged From Violence to Wholeness is an eleven-part study and action course developed by Pace e Bene Franciscan Non-violence Centre that explores active non-violence as a creative, powerful and effective process for addressing and resolving the conflicts in our lives and in the life of the world. Using small-group discussions, role plays, presentations and readings, From Violence to Wholeness offers participants the vision of a constructive alternative to the violence in our world today and practical tools for translating this vision into reality. The course ran at All Hallows in 2003, facilitated by Ray Gaston and Julie Greenan. These are some of the comments made by people who took part:
The eleven-week programme includes:Beginning our Journey ~ The Experience and Dynamics of Violence ~ The Faithful Non-violence of Jesus ~ Violence, Non-violence and Gender ~ Gandhi and the Non-violence of Soul-Force ~ Cultivating Reverence for the Earth ~ Non-violence and Social Transformation ~ Non-violent Social Change in Action: Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement ~ Experimenting with Non-violence: Creating Non-violent Activity ~ Creating Communities of Non-violence. The course has been extended from ten weeks to eleven weeks in response to feedback from previous participants. It will be facilitated by Ray Gaston and Julie Greenan of All Hallows Church.
