Food for Thought

Professor Tim Gorringe will lead a workshop on ‘Food for Thought’: towards a Christian view of the ethics, economics and politics of food, covering areas such as fair trade, the organic movement, the importance of agriculture and the need for local economies.

Tim will be delivering three addresses during the day, with plenty of time in between for questions and exploration together in groups. He will also be preaching at our Harvest Festival celebration the following day (Sunday 21 September).

For further details of the day, contact Ray Gaston on 0113-242 2205
or e-mail contact@allhallowsleeds.org.uk

To make sure of your place, please send in your booking form with payment as soon as possible.

Tim Gorringe worked in parishes for six years before going to South India to teach theology at the Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary, where he worked for seven years. His links with India remain close. On return to Britain he was for nine years Chaplain, Fellow and Tutor in Theology at St John’s College, Oxford. In 1995 he moved to St Andrew’s, and in 1998 he took up his present post as Professor of Theological Studies at the University of Exeter.

Aside from theology he is a bee-keeper, poultry-keeper, theatre-goer, home wine-maker, political activist, poetry lover and a member of the Iona Community.
