Matthew Caygill, Lecturer in History and Politics at Leeds Metropolitan University, will introduce this evening’s topic, which will look at the political, economic and social background to the balance of power in our world today.

Banja Luka: Beyond Conflict —
steps towards peace, prosperity and reconciliation

Donald Reeves will talk about the work of the Soul of Europe in Banja Luka, Bosnia, working for the rebuilding of a mosque destroyed by Serb nationalists during the war, and the project’s vision for reconciliation and hope throughout Europe. Donald will also be leading the 3-hour service on Good Friday at All Hallows and preaching at our Easter Sunday Service.

What is Jihad?

Professor Hafiz Fateh Mohammed of Al Medina Jamia Mosque will introduce a discussion on the much misunderstood Islamic concept of Jihad.


Wednesday 8 May 8.00 pm

Women and Islam

Local poet and anti-war activist Sitara Khan will introduce our discussion on women and Islam, presenting a very different analysis of women’s position in Islam from the one that is normally given in the media.
