With Heart and Mind

A series of workshops and lectures to feed heart and mind in the search for an authentic Christian spirituality for today

‘With heart and mind’ is a series of workshops and lectures at All Hallows Church which seek to explore a radical contemporary reading of the Christian tradition, bringing it into dialogue with depth psychology, science, politics and other faith traditions. The aim is to feed both heart and mind, encouraging the use of both reason and intuition in our shared quest for hope and meaning.

2003

Although not strictly part of the ‘With heart and mind’ series, the following workshop is similar:

2002

The workshops/lectures arranged for 2002 were:

• 11 May 2002 — ‘The end of all our exploring? — paths from science towards God’ — Dr Arthur Peacocke (2001 Templeton Prize winner) — unfortunately this workshop had to be cancelled as Dr Peacocke was ill.
• 20 July 2002 — ‘Dreaming the Heart’s Path’ — Veronica Whitty
• 21 September 2002 — ‘Subversive Orthodoxy’ — Ken Leech
• 9 November 2002 — ‘Sexual ethics for the 21st century’ — Adrian Thatcher

• 14 July 2001 — ‘Global capitalism and Christian resistance’ — Tim Gorringe
• 6 October 2001 — ‘What can Christians learn from other religions?’ — Elizabeth Harris
