Lent Study Groups 2006

This year’s study groups are based on Richard Foster’s book Streams of Living Water and are closely linked with the Sunday sermon series. Everyone is welcome to join the groups — you don’t have to be from All Hallows.

There will be two separate groups meeting: on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Please turn up to the one that is most convenient for you.

The ministry team suggests that the first sessions of each group take place in All Hallows Church at 7.00 pm and that times or the venue might be changed later, depending on the wishes/numbers of the people in the group.

The first meetings of the groups will take place in the week beginning 5 March. There will be six meetings, and each will be linked to a sermon at All Hallows — the sermons each cover a chapter of the book — but the sermons are not in the same order as the chapters occur in the book.

The sermon dates are given in the blue panel opposite. In each case, the relevant chapter of the book will be discussed in the week following the sermon.

For the first meeting on March 6th or 8th you will therefore need to have read, if possible, chapter 1 (the introduction) and chapter 7 (the Incarnational tradition).

Elaine now has copies of Streams of Living Water for those who ordered them — if you haven’t ordered yet, please get in touch with her immediately if you want her to get the book for you. The cost is £7.64 — this takes advantage of the ‘vicars’ discount’ rate from SPCK. The price if you buy your own is £8.99.
You can pay by cash or cheque — please make cheques payable to Elaine Wilford.

Update: the Monday group is meeting at 7.30 pm rather than 7.00 pm, still in church (the chapel, provided it’s warm!), and there is now no Wednesday group.
